Guidelines for Submission of Papers for Inclusion in the Publication
Papers submitted for publication in the journal BCSS should follow these guidelines:
1. Papers should be submitted no later than June 15, 2009.
2. Please ensure that all references cited are included in the bibliography. Please use SOCIETY FOR AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGY STYLE GUIDE format for the paper. If you require additional information on the SAA Style Guide, it can be found in the journal

3. Please keep document formatting to a minimum (e.g. indicate a new paragraph by two hard returns rather than an indent).
4. Please ensure that you provide us with your name and affiliation as you want it to appear in the publication, as well as a current mailing address.
5. Papers should be submitted as an electronic file containing the abstract, the text, the references and the figure captions for your paper in Rich Text Format (RTF). Files may be submitted on a 3.5” disk, standard CD or DVD or by email.
6. Individual electronic files should be sent in for each figure and table. Electronic versions of figures should be provided as high-resolution files without downsampling or lossy compression (i.e.: converting the image to JPEG format) and should be in either TIF or EPS file format, with a resolution of at least 350 dpi at the maximum size you would like the image reproduced. Electronic versions of tables should be in Rich Text Format (RTF).
Please indicate where you would like your figures and tables placed in relation to the text by placing the phrases [insert Figure 1] or [insert Table 1] at appropriate points in the text. Please do not embed the figures or tables in the electronic version of the text of your paper. All images should be a clear, clean, crisp copy in black-and-white or grayscale. Margins for illustrations are: left hand 4 cm; top, bottom and right hand 2 cm.
7. Papers must be a maximum of 10 pages, double-spaced, in 12 point font, including illustrations and bibliography.
Please note that it may be necessary to limit the number of papers that will be published in the volume. All papers submitted will be considered for publication, but the Editorial Committee reserves the right to reject a paper. In the case of typographical errors, failure to make corrections within the specified deadline may lead the editors to independently authorize those corrections and proceed with publication. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to independently make typographical corrections.
Publication takes approximately 12 months from the date of the conference. Please remember that the Editorial Committee is composed of students in the Department of Archaeology and History who will appreciate your efforts to simplify and speed up their task. Please advise us of any changes that may occur during the editorial process, including change of academic affiliation or address. For ease of communication, please include your current mailing and email addresses with your submission.
