Conference Topic

We are pleased to announce the 3nd International Archaeology Student Conference of 2012, conference that will explore topics concerning EVOLUTION AND EXISTENCE – PREHISTORIC VIOLENCE.

We take into consideration concepts such as:

-Violence and it’s roots in human non-societies/societies; evolution from individual violent and death to organized violence, and it’s evolutionary role in creating large scale aggregations with a centralized power structure and prestige.

-Factors of violence: greater population pressure, territorial claims, economical and ideological factors, centralization of power etc.
-We will consider concepts which can offer a reliable imagine of violence/prehistoric warfare from the point of view of archaeological and anthropological proofs; simultaneous burials, war trophies, sacrifices, skeletal evidences.
We are interested in papers concerning periods from Paleolithic towards the end of the second Iron Age that are discussing diverse theoretical, practical and methodological approaches to the topics indicated above.

Please note that the language of the conference is English. All presentations, posters and articles for publication in the conference proceedings should be in English.
